From 2014 to 2019, I traveled Indiana’s back roads exploring publicly accessible natural areas for a pair of travel books I produced for Indiana University Press: A Guide to Natural Areas of Southern Indiana and a companion on Northern Indiana.
The two books feature photographs, descriptions, and directions to 244 natural areas where the public can photograph, hike, birdwatch, camp, motorboat, float, fish, hunt, study, or otherwise enjoy and appreciate what’s left of Indiana’s natural heritage.
